Ronald David Sweat

Manager / Lead Singer

Ronald, is from Jacksonville Fl. He has been singing and traveling since he was 10 years old and now has over 5 decades of musical experience. He has sung with such groups as; Rushing Wind, The Pope Family, and New City Trio. Ronald's faith is a central part in his life and music.  He founded 2nd Crossing in 2008.  He was saved when he was 12 years old and is an active and faithful member of the Westside Church of God of Prophecy in  Jacksonville, FL where He worships  along side his wife Samantha and one of his children, Jonathan.

Rachel Renee'

Soprano

Rachel is from Dayton, Tn. She has been singing since she was 4 but started traveling when she was 12. She traveled for almost 10 years with the J.O. McLeod Evangelistic Team as their main soloist traveling across the U.S.  She also traveled to the Costa Rican for mission field singing in the local churches.  She still makes solo appearances and speaks at women's meetings and other speaking engagements. She helps with the groups bookings as well as singing. She was saved when she was 5 and attends East Pointe Church  in Jacksonville, FL. She has been a member of 2nd Crossing since 2021.

Kimberly Johnson

Alto

Kim was born in Tampa Fl, and grew up in Jacksonville. She is the oldest of three girls and grew up faithful and active in her church. she began singing in her church's youth choir and has enjoyed singing in choirs and ensembles ever since. she came to know Christ as Savior in 1977. In 2004 she began singing with her first southern gospel group, The New Glorybound Singers of Dade City, Fl.  She also sang with The Anchors out of Oxford Fl. she was also co-founder of the group Sunny South Trio out of Brooksville, Fl. Their name was later changed to Cross Ties Trio and she continued singing with Cross Ties out of Okeechobee, Fl. for 7 years. She has been a member of 2nd Crossing for 1 year. She attends Istachatta Baptist Church in Istachatta, Fl with her husband Rickie. 

Jonathan Sweat

Singer / Preacher

Jonathan is the 2nd son of Ronald Sweat. He is from Jacksonville, FL. He sings and preaches. He became an ordained minister in March, 2017. He has been singing since he was 4 and started preaching at the ripe old age of 8. He was saved at 7. He attends Westside Church Of God Of Prophecy in Jacksonville.

Samantha Sweat

Assistant Manager

Samantha is from Jacksonville, FL and is the wife of Ronald Sweat. She helps with booking and the product table. She also makes kitchen towels and book marks for the product table and helps with making travel arrangements.  She was saved at age 19 and also attends Westside Church Of God Of Prophecy in Jacksonville.

Rickie Johnson

Equipment

Rickie is a West Virginia native and moved to Florida in 2009 .  He has a passion for aviation and is a certified flight instructor.  He loves Southern Gospel music and has enjoys traveling with his wife, Kim and 2nd Crossing whenever  he can.  He was sound engineer with Cross Ties Trio from 2018 to 2023. Rickie does most of the heavy lifting for the group and provides help and support wherever needed.  Rickie was saved in 1972 and attend Istachatta Baptist Church with his wife, Kim.
